At the Indian box office, Chand Mera Dil ended its first weekend at Rs. 10.25 crore nett, with Rs. 4 crore coming on Sunday. That is a 10–12% increase over Saturday. Thus far, the film ended its premiere weekend with a lackluster performance. Tuesday is a holiday, which should keep sales reasonably stable on Monday and Tuesday.
However, if the movie doesn’t exhibit the necessary patterns, it might be difficult to have a successful run after that. The love drama, which stars Lakshya and Ananya Panday, has to do well on Monday at about Rs 1.75 crore in order to have a chance of having a run of sorts over the next two weeks until the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Peddi, and Bandar on June 5.
Particularly in this genre, small and mid-sized films have struggled in the post-pandemic era. Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, on the other hand, were notable box office successes. Whether or not Chand Mera Dil can demonstrate some strong legs in the future will be interesting to watch.
For those who don’t know, Vivek Soni, who earlier directed Aap Jaisa Koi for Dharma Productions, is the director of Chand Mera Dil. The film received mixed reviews from viewers, with some praising its music and performances.
