Check out: Manchester City’s leading defender named as ‘Premier League player of the Season’

Ruben Dias is titled as Premier League player of the year after helping Manchester City to lead to the title in his debut season after getting transferred from Benfica. The Premier League manager of the year award and young player of the year award is going to announce on Saturday afternoon. The defender (Ruben Dias) completes an individual award after winning the Football Writers’ Association award in May earlier this year.

Along with him, three players were listed on the shortlist for the Premier League’s best player award alongside Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. The other two West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek and Chelsea’s Mason Mount were also nominated. Ruben has made 32 league appearances for Manchester City this season with scoring one goal and helping his side achieving 15 clean sheets when he played.

His partnership with John Stones is at the heart of Guardiola’s defense and conceded only 32 goals in total in the league while playing a crucial role in Manchester City’s Premier League win. Ruben Dias’ increasing influence in the side helped the team go on a staggering 21-game win streak in all competitions after just one win in their first three league matches which also includes 15 successive victories in the Premier League.
