Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to meet Union home minister Amit Shah at Delhi today

The national capital shall be visited by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today. A meeting with Union home minister Amit shah has been scheduled during the visit of the Chief Minister. Due to the unavailability of Amit Shah, the meeting has been scheduled today while it was initially planned for Monday. The rescheduling took place after three days of communication between the Chief Minister’s office situated at Tadepalli with Shah’s office at Delhi.

It is most likely that for accepting the proposal of having a national centralised policy on the COVID-19 vaccination programme, the Chief Minister will express his gratitude to the Union Minister.

Suggesting a national policy on vaccines, letters were written to Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Chief Minister by Jagan, as states were unable to procure the doses. Getting the bids for global tenders seeking vaccination supply was failed by Andhra Pradesh (AP) as well because the control mechanism lies with the Union government.

Seeking the inclusion of infrastructure cost for housing colonies under the Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojna, letters were written to the Prime Minister two days ago by Jagan. The request to release the pending 16,000 crore fund for the Polavaram project might also be renewed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as per the sources along with seeking additional financial support to the state in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
