China Eastern Airlines to restart Shanghai–Delhi flight services from November 9

In a continuous effort to normalise relations between India and China, China Eastern Airlines is scheduled to start operating round-trip flights between Shanghai and New Delhi on November 9.

In August of this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping met on the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation conference in Tianjin, where they announced the return of direct flights between a few cities after a five-year break.

The flights will run every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday between the two cities. At 12:50 PM (local time), the flight will leave Shanghai’s Pudong Airport and land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 5:45 PM. The return flight, meanwhile, is scheduled to leave Delhi at 7:55 PM and reach Shanghai Pudong at 4:10 AM the following day.

Additionally, the airline has begun selling tickets for the service, which will begin next month. IndiGo said earlier this month that it would begin offering daily flights from Kolkata to Guangzhou, China, on October 26. Additionally, the airline is anticipated to begin service between Guangzhou and Delhi.
