As stated in the 14th five year plan by Communist Party of China, China will build a hydropower project on Brahmaputra river( Yarlung Zangbo) the Tibetan name. This project will serve to maintain water resources and domestic security, the Global Times reported. This hydropower project is put forward keeping in mind the interests of the riparian states. India is consistently conveying concerns about the project and urging them to ensure interests of the downstream states.
