Choksi’s cooked up story of abduction : a result of Antigua’s plan to send him back to India

A report by CNN- news 18 reveals the fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi with his agent who helped him escape first from Antigua then from Barbuda. However, the efforts are all put into identifying the person.

A close friend of Choksi, named Govin has revealed the plans and plots of settling choksi in a safehouse in Cuba, leaving Antigua. He also reveals that the 62-year-old, apart from holding citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda, also holds citizenship in Caribbean country, police sources claims.

The intelligence agencies also mentioned that Choksi himself cooked up his story of abduction when he was aware about the Antigua government’s commitment to send him back to India.

Choksi’s nephew, Nirav Modi a fugitive Indian businessman, who was charged by the Interpol and Government of India for criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, honesty, cheating, fraud and money laundering back in 2018, had fled India with Choksi in January 2018 before multi-crore scam in Punjab National Bank (PNB). The duo went on to an extent of bribing the state-run bank officials allegedly to get Letters of Undertaking (LoU), which helped them avail heavy loans overseas bank which remained unpaid.

Choksi then mysteriously gone missing from Barbuda and Antigua on May 23, where he has been staying since he fled Delhi. He was then detained in neighboring island Dominica for his illegal entry.

The blood eye and bruises does not justify Choksi’s abduction

Antigua Government’s sources claim, that Choksi was very well aware of the government’s commitment to send him back to India, after which he purportedly decided to shift from the island nation.

Since the Interpol had earlier issued a Red corner notice against him, he could not travel outside the country, and the only way out for him remains to be a made up story of abduction. All of this just for breaking attention from the real issue, sources claims.
