The actor, known for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, shared his thoughts on Instagram stories, expressing gratitude that he and his family are safe, while also acknowledging the devastation happening around them.
Reports had earlier claimed that Pratt’s ex-wife, Anna Faris, had lost her home in the fires, which have been rapidly escalating over the past few days. Pratt, who is now married to Katherine Schwarzenegger and has three children with her, took to social media to update his followers on his family’s situation. He reassured everyone that they are safe, writing, “Our family is safe and for that we are grateful.” He also took a moment to reflect on the tragedy, adding, “This is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to those who have lost everything during this time.”
In addition to sharing his own experience, Pratt offered support to others affected by the fires. He included a message in his story saying, “If you or anyone you know might need help, I’ll share some resources in the following slides. God Bless.”
The fires, which began on Tuesday, have spread quickly due to the dry vegetation and strong winds in the area. The fire department immediately began rescue operations as the flames moved through neighborhoods, destroying homes. As of Thursday, the authorities reported 10 deaths linked to the fires and warned that more than 30,000 people have had to evacuate their homes for safety.
