Christian Eriksen falls on the pitch during the first half of the Euro 2020 clash with Finland. Christian Eriksen received CPR on the pitch after this horrific incident in the game. Medical staff rushed on to the field of play and CPR was administered on the field.
A screen was put up around Eriksen on the field of play while medics and the players remained on his side to motivate him to get through this tragedy. This step was taken to protect his privacy from the audience and the cameramen who were constantly filming him.
There was immediate concern from players of both countries while his teammates created a barrier for him. Eriksen’s wife also came on to the pitch and was consoled by Kasper Schmeichel who himself was in tears after seeing his dear friend fighting against death.
The Finland players and match officials left the pitch and the fixture was officially postponed to another day after this tragic event in today’s game. Eriksen has over 100 caps for his country, he began his career at Ajax before moving to Tottenham Hotspur where he played for 7 years, he then left spurs to join Inter Milan last year and have won the Serie A with them.
