CJI responds to letter from class 5 student from Kerala

There are several letters that the Chief Justice NV Ramana receives almost everyday. However, the ones dispatched by a boy and a girl caught the Chief Justice’s attention. He responded to the letters personally and encouraged them to become nation builders.

A fifth standard student, Lidhwina Joseph from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thrissur, Kerala wrote a letter to the Chief Justice which exhibited the young population awareness about the country.

She wrote, “I was much worried about the deaths in Delhi and other parts of the country due to corona. From the newspaper, I understood that your honorable court has intervened effectively in the sufferings and deaths of people in the fight against Covid-19. I am happy and feel proud your honorable court has passed orders for supply of oxygen and saved many lives. I understand your honorable court has initiated effective steps in bringing down Covid and death rate in our country, especially in Delhi . I thank you, your honor, for this.”

Expectedly, she might have referred to the country’s oxygen crisis issue in the peak of the pandemic and the centre being directed by the SC to maintain optimum supply of oxygen to Delhi.

In response to the girl’s letter, CJI replied, “I have received your beautiful letter along with the heart warming illustration of the judge at work. I am really impressed by the way you kept track of happenings in the country and the concern that you have displayed for the well being of the people. I am sure you will grow up into an alert, informed and responsible citizen who will contribute immensely towards nation building.”

Earlier, a few days back, the CJI responded to a class 12 student from Andhra Pradesh, Potluri Darshet, who wrote a letter in flawless Telugu. The CJI appreciated his effort and expressed that it was rare these days to come across youngsters writing letters in their mother tongue.
