CM Rekha Gupta announces single-window system for all Ramlila permissions

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Wednesday that the Delhi government would provide improved facilities, such as a single-window clearance system and a lower security deposit, to promote Ramlila organizations in the nation’s capital.

At a special meeting at the Raj Niwas, which was presided over by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, this decision was made. Gupta, Delhi Ramleela Federation office bearers, and senior officials from pertinent departments attended the meeting. The capital’s Ramlila is scheduled for September 22–October 2 this year.

About 600 Ramleela performances occur in Delhi, 100 of which are presented on a large scale, according to the chief minister. Under the direction of the district magistrate, a single window system is now being built at the district level, according to Gupta, through which all kinds of NOCs needed for Ramlila performances would be issued.

According to her, the ₹20 per square meter security deposit for land has been lowered to ₹15 per square meter. The area designated for amusement areas that accompany the Ramlila performances has been raised from 25% of the entire area to 40%, which is another significant move.

A committee made up of two office bearers from the Delhi Ramlila Federation and a deputy director-level officer from DDA has been established to promptly settle conflicts that occasionally arise over rides and food vendors in the entertainment area, she said.

To settle disagreements, this group will work with representatives from different departments if necessary, she continued. According to Gupta, the organizers recently met with her to discuss some of the difficulties they encountered. They stated that it was extremely difficult to secure NOCs from many departments, including the Delhi Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s horticultural department.

In order to be prepared for any emergency, they recommended that the Delhi government station one ambulance at each Ramlila location. She stated that organizers would have no trouble staging Ramleela after the decisions made at the conference on Wednesday. She pointed out that the seamless staging of events was hampered in recent years by a number of issues that organizers had to deal with, such as delays in procuring land and trouble obtaining numerous no-objection certificates.

She asserts that Ramlila preserves the cultural legacy in addition to serving as a symbol of religious faith. According to her, this government program will foster social cohesion and strengthen the preservation of tradition.
