Co-founder of the Ice Bucket challenge dies after long battle with ALS

Patrick Quinn, Co-founder of the Ice Bucket challenge which went viral on social media in the summer of 2014 for raising awareness about ALS, has died at the age of 37 after a seven year long battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was diagnosed with ALS on 8 march 2013. His campaign raised more than $220 million for medical research into ALS.
