The team behind Cocktail 2 has temporarily halted its Delhi shooting plans due to the worsening air quality and recent security tensions in the national capital. The film, which stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles, was expected to start its Delhi schedule on November 12 but has now been pushed to December.
According to a production source, the makers had planned to film across several key areas of Delhi, including the university campus, South Delhi, and Central Delhi. “Shahid along with Kriti and Rashmika were supposed to arrive in Delhi for a seven-day shoot starting from November 12. However, due to the alarming pollution levels and the recent blast, the team decided it was best to delay the schedule,” the insider revealed.
The tragic blast that occurred near Red Fort metro station killed at least 13 people and left 21 injured, leading to heightened security measures in the region. The film’s team had also planned sequences in Old Delhi, which has now become a concern. While the schedule has been postponed, sources confirm that it is not cancelled. The production team aims to resume filming in December, depending on the city’s environmental and safety conditions.
