Super League files a Law-suite in the apex court against football’s major boards FIFA and UEFA

The case of a controversial project has reached the highest court in European Union. A complaint has been filed by The European Super League against FIFA and UEFA to the court of justice.

Real Madrid and European Super League president Florentino Perez.

Super League was disaffiliated within 2 days just after its announcement by Florentino Perez, the Real Madrid’s president who is the main proponent of the grand project’s formation. The league included 12 teams namely Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, AC Milan, Real Madrid and Spurs. The League faced alot of criticism and threatens specially by UEFA and FIFA after which all the signed up clubs withdraw their names started with the big six.

Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona are still part of this.

The two governing bodies of Football are violating the EU competition rules and they do not have the command to avert the remaining clubs namely, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Barcelona from breaking away and avoiding probable sanctions, claims the Super League officials. The Court of Justice will reportedly regulate if only UEFA and FIFA can exclusively organize football competitions and not the other organizations like Super League.

Both the boards have been threatening the newly proposed project-involved clubs from the beginning of its announcement to prohibit them from domestic as well as international competitions.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin attacks the project once again and labels the involved clubs “dishonest”. “It’s strange that they publish officially that they are still part of the Super League and then they send a letter applying to play in the Champions League. If for them the project exists, the three of the clubs can play their Super League but then they say they want to play the Champions League as well at the same time, this is really hard to understand.

We are not afraid, we will wait for what the court decides. We have to be honest and work for football.”

Ceferin, says that he doesn’t know what the ESL involved three clubs could face since the investigation is ongoing and independent.
