Crash Course for COVID-19 frontline workers to be launched by PM Modi today

On Friday, the Customised Crash course programme for COVID-19 frontline workers at 11:00 a.m. will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing. Spread over 26 States, in 111 training centres the commence of the programme will be launched from Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) which will be followed by the Prime Minister’s address.

The occasion will also have the presence of Mahendra Nath Pandey, Union minister of skill development and entrepreneurship.

In six customised job roles namely Home Care Support, Basic Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Emergency Care Support, Sample Collection Support and Medical Equipment Support, the training will be imparted to over one lakh COVID Warriors through the programme aiming to skill and upskill them across the country.

Under the Central Component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0, the programme has been designed as a special programme with a total financial outlay of ₹276 crores as said by the Prime Minister Office (PMO). To fill the present and future needs of manpower in the health sector, the programmes shall create skilled non-medical health care workers to fulfil its objective.

In the last 24 hours, India has reported around 62,480 fresh cases of COVID-19 pushing the overall tally to 2,97,62,793 according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday morning, while a total of 2,85,80,647 recoveries have been reported across the nation so far along with 88,977 additional people being recovered in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent while the country has increased its COVID-19 recovery rate to 96.03 per cent.
