The new version of Criminal Minds is called Criminal Minds: Evolution. With the return of Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), J.J. (A.J. Cook), and Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) to the BAU, the team is once more searching for serial killers. Although Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Simmons (Daniel Henney) are still presumed dead, you scarcely have time to notice since the team is preoccupied with the most evasive unsub they have yet to encounter.
He goes by Elias Voit, and Friday Night Lights alum Zach Gilford plays him. The television series Criminal Minds: Evolution will look at what happens when a serial murderer is imprisoned for two years by a pandemic and develops a network of other killers who share their goals.
Criminal Minds: Evolution cast
Fortunately, most of them will return for the revival—not all of them, though, as we’ll discuss in a moment—so it just wouldn’t be the same without the recognizable faces that we got to know and love over the course of 15 seasons.
Zach Gilford, a former cast member of Friday Night Lights, was revealed by Paramount+ as the show’s first new cast member. Gilford will play a recurrent character throughout the season. Gilford will portray Elias Voit, a cyber-security specialist with a dark side and a death fixation, in place of his usual role as the nice guy.
- Joe Mantegna as Senior Agent David Rossi
- A.J. Cook as Agent JJ Jareau
- Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis
- Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez
- Kirsten Vangsness as Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia
- Paget Brewster as Unit Chief Emily Prentiss
- Zach Gilford as Elias Voit
Criminal Minds: Evolution storyline
This brand-new series, which is set in the post-Covid-19 era, will continue where the first one left off. The streaming version of the show will follow one plot over the whole season as opposed to a different case in each episode, in contrast to the cable TV show. According to the official logline, Elias Voit, an unsub who has used the epidemic to create a network of other serial murderers, will pose the biggest threat yet to the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers. The network is now active as the globe starts to open again, and our squad must find them one murder at a time.
