Cristiano Ronaldo demands Al Nassr sign his ‘best friend’ from La Liga side: Report

Since Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr, Saudi Arabia has surprisingly attracted ageing stars who are getting closer to retirement. The Portuguese international signed a two and a half year deal with the Saudi Pro League team, which is said to be valued at more than 200 million euros. After a controversial interview with journalist Piers Morgan in which he criticised the club’s hierarchy and manager Erik ten Hag, his contract with Manchester United was terminated.

Even Ronaldo’s former teammate Karim Benzema just joined Al Ittihad after Real Madrid’s 2022-23 season ended. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi was linked to Al Hilal before deciding to join MLS club Inter Miami. Riyad Mahrez and Ngolo Kante are now linked to the Saudi Pro League.

It appears that Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho may possibly join Al Nassr. The 31-year-old is presently a  key player of Real Betis, where he is under contract until 2026. Ronaldo wants Al Nassr to sign Carvalho, who has roomed with him while on international duty, according to AS. As per the report, the two are ‘best friends’.

However, there is a problem that the Saudi clubs are looking for free transfer and Carvalho isn’t.
