James Bond is one of the most famous fictional characters and just a few people have had the opportunity to portray the spy. Some actors would do anything and everything to portray the iconic role while others would prefer to stay away from the role.
Daniel Craig was the most recent star to portray Bond and he was fantastic in the role. Craig has moved on while the franchise searches for a replacement. Unfortunately, one interviewer did not get the memo and they ended up having an awkward encounter with the actor.
Craig was making the rounds and doing interviews for the premiere of No Time to Die. Unfortunately, he ran upon one of his least favourite questions ‘Who will be the next James Bond?’
As reported by Cosmopolitan, this is where things became awkward between Craig and the interviewer, who asked the wrong person the wrong question.
“But, er, judging by one particular interview with 9News Today, the 53-year-old actor is over being asked about who’s going to replace him as James Bond. “Not my problem,” he replied when asked about who’ll take over the role. Was he ever going to return as Bond? “Nope,” he said. “That ends that one, then,” the site reported.
We’re sure the interviewer had good intentions and was just doing their job, however, this was not the right question to ask. Craig has previously shown a prickly position on leaving the franchise and has been open about his lack of interest in anything about Bond in the future.
