David Warner and Michael Slater refuse to comment on alleged ‘brawl’ in a Maldives bar

As Australian players huddled in the Maldives after the suspension of the IPL 2021, rumour mills were abuzz with reports of a physical confrontation between Star batsman David Warner and former opener-turned-commentator Michael Slater at a Maldives pub.

Slater, in strong denial of the Daily Telegraph article, reiterated his relationship with Warner, claiming there were “zero prospects” of a clash between them. “There is nothing to the rumour mill, Buzz. “Davie and I are best friends, and there is simply no risk of (having) a fight,” Michael Slater texted senior journalist Phil Rothfield, according to foxsports.com.au.

Former SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Warner also denied the rumours stating that nothing had happened between them.

“There has been no drama. I don’t know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can’t write anything. Nothing happened,” David Warner stated.
