Before the release of Chhapaak, Deepika Padukone made an announcement about her aspiring role as Draupadi a chapter and character from the Indian epic Mahabharata. The story of the film was supposed to come out as a narration from Draupadi’s perspective.
According to the latest updates on the movie, media reports claim that it has been put on break for two years as they aren’t able to fix director for the film. The film was announced because audience had keen interest in watching Mahabharata on big screens.
After this, Deepika has switched her focus on another upcoming project Shakun Batra’s next The Intern and also Pathan, Fighter and Prabhas next film with Nag Ashwin. Deepika had described her role and said she is excited and committed towards her role as being Draupadi on big screens, but for now she has driven her focus on other projects.
