
Rekha Gupta, the new chief minister of Delhi, announced that her government’s first cabinet meeting will take place this evening at the civil secretariat while thumping the table and chanting, “Long live India.”
“I have assumed responsibility at the chief minister’s office following today’s swearing-in, and a cabinet meeting has been planned for this evening,” Rekha Gupta informed reporters.
MLA for Shalimar Bagh In a lavish event at Ramlila Maidan, lieutenant governor VK Saxena swore in Rekha Gupta as chief minister of Delhi. Her council of ministers also took the oath. Chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from a number of NDA-ruled states attended the event, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP figures like Union ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Rajnath Singh.
Gupta arrived at the Delhi Secretariat to assume his position as chief minister, accompanied by state president Virendra Sachdeva, state BJP in-charge Baijayant Panda, and other party leaders. Following her assumption of power, Gupta assured media that her administration will not spend any time in achieving the “mission” of a “Viksit Delhi.”
She declared, “We will fulfil all of the promises made to the people of Delhi.” In addition to doing an Arti at a Yamuna Ghat with her ministers, the chief minister announced that the new Cabinet will meet Thursday at 7 p.m.
