On Tuesday, May 18, the Delhi court dismissed the anticipatory bail application filed by Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar regarding reference to the Chhatrasal incident. The Court withheld the order after hearing the submission of each side.
Sushil Kumar was represented by Senior Advocate Sidharth Luthra and lawyer RS Jakhar while Delhi Police was represented by Additional prosecutor Atul Shrivastava.
Sushil Kumar’s lawyer told that the report against him is groundless, baseless, harsh, and preposterous and this has been made against him balefully with the sole motive to harm the emotions and defame him.
Additional prosecutor Atul Shrivastava urged the court to dismiss Sushil Kumar’s plea on the idea that there’s electronic evidence against him where he might be seen hitting the victims with a stick.
Delhi Police has declared prize money of Rs one lakh for Sushil Kumar and Rs 50,000 for co-accused Ajay for anyone providing their information. On May 5, Delhi Police has filed an FIR against the Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar after a fight causing several injured and demise of one bloke while he was been taken to the hospital. The incident took place inside the Chhatrasal Stadium.
