Delhi Police issues notice against 20 farm leaders including Yogendra Yadav, seeking reply within three days

The Delhi Police on Thursday have issued notices to at least 20 farmer’s leaders including Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav over the violence during the farmers’ tractor parade on Republic Day. Yogendra Yadav, Baldev Singh Sirsa and Balbir S Rajewal are the among leaders to whom the notices have been sent for the accusement of violating the agreed rules of the tractor parade. The police have also sought answers within three days on why did the farmers violate the agreed rules.

The further planning of the farmers was to march to the Parliament on 1 February (Budget Day). However, following the chaos the Farmers’ union along with a fraction of Bharatiya Kisan Union has withdrawn its protest.

“The flame inside us will continue to burn and our next plan includes hunger strikes across the country”, said the farmers.
