The Delhi government in the recent most order said that the bars would be able to open from Noon to 10 pm with only 50 per cent seating capacity. Whereas the restaurants could remain open from 8 am to 10 pm unlike the previous timing allowed, 10 am to 8 pm.

They said that regardless of the thousands of deaths that occurred due to the second wave of the COVID-19 virus in April or May, the people’s disregard for the safety norm had not changed, even when the healthcare system practically collapsed.

The Chief of Delhi’s All-India Institute of Medical Sciences and a member of the Centre’s COVID-19 Task Force, Dr. Randeep Guleria, mentioned that the third wave of the virus was inevitable in India and it may hit the country sooner. He said that as the unlocking has been started, there was still a lack of the virus appropriate behaviour, and how nobody has seemed to learn from the first or the second wave. He also said that crowds have started to build up and people have been gathering, and it would take some time for the number of cases to start rising at the national level.

He also said and warned that the third wave was inevitable and could hit the country in the next six to eight weeks, but he mentions that it all depended on how the people move forward in the terms of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and prevent crowds.
