Devin Booker wants the All-Star rosters to expand after snub: Here’s all you need to know about it!

NBA All-Star Snubs spark controversy as Devin Booker calls for change

The highly anticipated NBA All-Star roster was officially announced, but as always, the selections came with heated debates over major snubs. With only 24 coveted spots available, several superstar players found themselves left out, sparking frustration among fans and athletes alike.

In the Eastern Conference, Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young and Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball were among the most surprising omissions despite their standout performances this season. Meanwhile, the Western Conference featured a wave of first-time All-Stars, leaving seasoned veterans like Kyrie Irving (Mavericks) and Norman Powell (Clippers) on the outside looking in.

One of the biggest snubs of the year was Phoenix Suns’ star Devin Booker, who once again found himself sidelined despite averaging elite numbers. Booker, a four-time All-Star in his decade-long career, openly criticized the selection process, claiming that today’s NBA prioritizes entertainment and politics over pure talent.

Devin Booker All-Star rosters comments

“It was always a goal of mine [to be an All-Star], but this just proves that the NBA is different from the game I fell in love with,” Booker said via Bleacher Report. “It’s no longer just about having the best players in the All-Star game—it’s about entertainment, drama, and politics.”

Booker also pointed out the glaring issue of limited roster spots, arguing that the current format fails to showcase the depth of talent in the league. “You look at guys like Kyrie, Norman Powell—they’re having incredible seasons and winning games. On the East, Trae and LaMelo are putting up unheard-of numbers. There’s more than enough talent to expand the All-Star pool,” he told ESPN.

With the NBA constantly tweaking All-Star weekend to boost excitement, expanding the rosters may be the next step to ensure deserving stars don’t get overlooked. Will the league make a change, or will elite players continue to be left out of the biggest showcase of the season?
