Dhurandhar 2 records strong advance booking with ₹8 crore from paid premiere

Aditya Dhar’s Ranveer Singh-starring film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, also known as Dhurandhar 2, will be released on March 19, with paid premieres on March 18. Advance bookings for the film have exceeded ₹8 crore since its teaser was released on Saturday. Dhurandhar 2 also sold an impressive 87,000 tickets in 24 hours. Dhurandhar 2 advance booking started on a variety of ticketing portals, but BookMyShow (BMS) alone sold 87.81K seats in 24 hours.

According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, the picture sold a staggering 7.5K paid premiere seats per hour as soon as bookings opened. While this amount is far from the biggest per-hour ticket sales, it is still reasonable and likely to rise. Dhurandhar 2, starring Ranveer Singh, sold tickets worth ₹4 crore worldwide in less than two hours after advance booking opened, according to trade website Sacnilk.

PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis alone collected ₹2.50 crore with 35,000 tickets sold in their multiplex chains. A new premium price category, Super Blockbuster Plus, has been created. Tickets for previews in Delhi-NCR multiplexes might cost up to ₹2500 each. Dhurandhar 2 grossed ₹8.06 crore in its paid premiere. The Hindi version alone generates more than ₹7 crore. The Telugu version has earned almost ₹5 lakh, while the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have received ₹4 lakh, ₹27K, and ₹28K, respectively.

The highest occupancy rate thus far has been observed in Tamil Nadu, at 22%. With more than a week until the premiere, the numbers are anticipated to rise.Dhurandhar grossed ₹28 crore in India when it debuted on December 5. The film grossed ₹103 crore within its debut weekend. Dhurandhar grossed ₹838.5 crore in India and ₹1303.35 crore internationally.

Given the high expectations and popularity of the previous film, Dhurandhar 2 is likely to outperform these figures. Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Bedi will all return for the sequel.
