Despite not taking advantage of the reductions, Dhurandhar once again saw a spike in collection on a Tuesday. The movie made about Rs. 16.25 crore at the Indian box office on its third Tuesday, up about 3% from Monday. With Rs. 121 crore nett from the first five days of the third week included, the running total now stands at Rs. 560 crore nett.
Over Rs. 160 crore nett is expected in the third week. For comparison, no other Hindi movie has made even Rs. 100 crore in its third week of release. By the end of its third week on Thursday, Dhurandhar will probably surpass the Rs. 600 crore nett milestone.
Due to the New Year’s celebrations, the fourth week will also be quite busy. By the end of it, it will have surpassed the Rs. 700 crore nett threshold with an additional Rs. 100 crore week. There isn’t much competition for the movie in January, and it can easily go until Republic Day week, when Border 2 comes out. The movie is still on course to beat Pushpa 2’s nett revenue of Rs. 738 crore to become the highest-grossing Hindi movie ever. The Rs. 800 crore nett target now seems a little challenging, unless the movie shocks us once more, of course. Dhurandhar has about 2.50 crore visitors.
It will hit the 3 crore club sometime next week, becoming only the fifth Bollywood film to accomplish so since the epidemic, following Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan, and Stree 2. By the conclusion of its run, the picture is expected to have grossed 3.50 crore and may potentially rival Dangal for the title of most-watched Bollywood film in the last two decades.
