Dhurandhar: Part one runtime revealed — Is the Ranveer Singh starrer as long as Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal?

On December 5, 2025, Ranveer Singh’s next film, Dhurandhar, is scheduled to hit theaters. Since the release of the trailer, Aditya Dhar’s spy-gangster action movie has gained attention for its unvarnished and rustic style.

On social media, many are comparing Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, pointing to similarities in appearance, graphic action, and marketing tactics. Similar to Animal, Dhurandhar began their marketing campaign with a recreational rendition of an old Punjabi song. We now know that the duration of Dhurandhar is comparable to that of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film.

The Dhurandhar team intends to lock its final edit at three hours and twenty minutes, according to insiders. Since the producers have not yet submitted the final print to the Censor Board of Film Certification, it is currently said to be the tentative runtime. It will be Ranveer Singh’s longest film ever, surpassing his 2015 release Dil Dhadakne Do, which ran for two hours and fifty-one minutes, if it is censored to the aforesaid runtime.

It’s interesting to note that Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal was censored with an A-rating (Adults Only) and ran for three hours and twenty-one minutes. Given the gore and brutality in the teaser, the upcoming Ranveer Singh film may also receive an A classification.

In the coming days, Dhurandhar’s runtime will become clear. Pushpa 2, like Animal, ran for about 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes). Animal debuted in the first week of December 2023, Pushpa 2 exploded at the box office in the first week of December 2024, and now Dhurandhar hopes to replicate the same phenomenon in the first week of December 2025.

For those who don’t know, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun are among the ensemble cast members of Dhurandhar. Three weeks before the premiere, on November 18, a 4-minute-8-second trailer was made public.

Given that the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani actor’s previous attempts failed at the box office, Dhurandhar’s outcome will be extremely important. A sequel to Dhurandhar is anticipated to be released in theaters in the summer of 2026.
