About

The first scene of the trailer shows Asmara’s life in Mumbai, where she prioritises appearances over luxury. Due to an error she committed, Asmara, a young girl with dreams of graduating to Canada, ends up living in her nani’s (maternal grandmother’s) home in a small hamlet in North India. She must now live with her strict grandparents in an ancestral home, a far cry from her opulent existence in the city. Asmara disobeys, makes fun of her grandparents, and tells falsehoods to her pals about being in Canada. The novel Dil Dosti Dilemma tells the coming-of-age story of Asmara, a young girl whose life takes an unexpected turn when she moves into her nani’s ancestral home.

Asmara makes fun of her grandparents in front of their neighbours as a kind of defiance against long-standing customs at their home. She even tells her friends falsehoods about moving to Canada rather than to live with her grandparents. When Asmara meets Farzan, with whom she has ai romantic connection, she discovers what it truly means to be happy while fighting against her own family.
