Actress Disha Vakani, had played several roles in movies like Jodha Akbar, Devdas, etc. but received immense love and fame only for her character in TMKOC. Disha enjoys a huge fanbase of Dayaben. Even after her temporary exit from the show, she remained in the minds of people.
The actress took a maternity leave in 2017 and hasn’t made a comeback yet. There were rumors about her exit from the show and that a new actor is soon going to replace her. But none of it was confirmed by the makers.
In one of the interviews, Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal from the show told to Bombay times, “Two years ago, when Disha announced that she was going on maternity leave, we were apprehensive about how the show will go on because Jethalal and Daya are crucial to it. It is not that an actor can’t be replaced. In the past, too, there have been such cases. For example, when Ronit Roy replaced Amar Upadhyay in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, many had wondered if the show would go on. But the fact is, the show goes on. Having said that, Kyunki… was a family drama and this is a comedy show. It is important that the actor, who replaces Disha, has good comic timing and fits the character.”
Fans are eagerly waiting for Disha Vakani to join the show and bring back the old charm to the serial.
