A social media spat seems to be brewing between Divya Khosla Kumar and the Karan Johar-Alia Bhatt camp. On Saturday, Divya took to Instagram to accuse Alia of inflating the box office success of her latest film Jigra. The actress-producer shared a post after visiting Citi Mall PVR, where she claimed the theater was “totally empty.”
In her post, Divya alleged that Alia had “bought tickets herself and announced fake collections.” She further expressed frustration over the media’s silence on the issue, using hashtags like #TruthOverLies and #HappyDussehra.
Shortly after, Karan Johar, the producer of Jigra and Alia’s long-time mentor, seemingly addressed the controversy with a cryptic Instagram story. Without naming Divya, he wrote, “Silence is the best speech you will ever give to fools,” a statement that many believe was aimed at her accusations.
Divya, however, was quick to clap back. She posted another story with the quote, “Truth will always offend fools opposed to it.” She added yet another dig, implying that those who frequently take what isn’t rightfully theirs will “seek shelter in silence” and lack “a voice or spine”. As the online exchange intensifies, fans are left wondering if this will escalate further or fizzle out. Either way, the feud is certainly turning heads in Bollywood.
