Does Tom Blyth want to be a part of Hunger Games?

Tom Blyth’s portrayal of Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes has been hailed as one of the franchise’s standout additions, drawing comparisons to Sam Claflin’s beloved portrayal of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire. Blyth is clearly passionate about the character, even joking about the possibility of returning to play an older version of Snow in the upcoming Hunger Games film, Sunrise on the Reaping.

The film will explore a time 45 years after Ballad, focusing on Haymitch Abernathy’s participation in the 50th Hunger Games. By this point, Snow has already become President of Panem, setting the stage for his involvement in Haymitch’s transformation into the character we meet in the original series. Unfortunately, Blyth and his co-star Rachel Zegler won’t be reprising their roles due to the film’s later timeline, which makes Blyth’s return even more unlikely.

However, with the tragic passing of Donald Sutherland in 2024, Blyth has expressed a playful willingness to step into the role of an older Snow, offering to use prosthetics to make him look 65 for the part. This cheeky offer showcases Blyth’s commitment to the role and his connection to the franchise, and it could be a perfect opportunity for the team to revisit the character in a way that feels both fresh and authentic. Given Blyth’s strong performance as Snow’s younger self, fans are already hoping to see more of him in the future, especially as the film explores Snow’s pivotal role in shaping the world of Panem.

As for Sunrise on the Reaping, fans are excited to see more of Tigris, Snow’s cousin, who was brilliantly portrayed by Hunter Schafer in Ballad. The movie, set to release in November 2026, promises to explore the complexities of the Hunger Games universe even further, and with Blyth’s enthusiasm and his previous performances, it’s clear that he would be a perfect fit for an expanded role. Fans are eagerly awaiting casting announcements, but if it were up to them, Blyth would be back in the makeup chair sooner rather than later.
