A strategic partnership has been commenced by Snowman Logistics with Hyderabad based Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, in order to facilitate temperature-controlled end-to-end logistics solutions for the delivery of Sputnik COVID-19 vaccine (two doses) across the nation.
Snowman is planning to manage the delivery through five of its high-capacity temperature-controlled warehouses which are located in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru. The company will be offering storage, order processing, shipper packing and secondary transportation from these locations as per a statement.
As updated by Snowman Logistics, the company claims to have a capability of storing 650 million doses readily at any given time. The storing capacity can be increased to around 1.05 billion doses just with a short notice for Pan-India distribution. With an ability to store the vaccines at a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius, the company provides real time temperature monitoring to make sure that the temperature is set with correct conditions for the distribution of vaccine during the supply chain.
In the past, a partnership with other companies in the pharma sector such as Abbott, Alkem, Bharat Biotech, GlaxoSmithKline, Inventia, MSD(Merck Sharp & Dohme) Pharma), Novozymes, and Pfizer amongst others by the company was evidently seen.
With the aim to cater small volume locations where there are no cold storages (Small towns, Taluka, Village etc.), by using refrigerated containers, reach in freezers, etc. for effective temperature-controlled deliveries, the company had designed solutions for the same the previous year.
The company aims to reach maximum institutions administering vaccines with the support of this partnership as mentioned by Sunil Nair, CEO, Snowman Logistics.
