An economic survey claimed that the Indian economy is on a V-shaped recovery and that the strict lockdown in the early days of the pandemic helped to save lives.
The survey supported the lockdown and said that the GDP will soon recover from the pandemic. It brought to attention to a research that won the Nobel Prize, along with the Spanish Flu of 1918 and the Mahabharata to say that the quick lockdown that took place in the first phase of the pandemic will bring about employment and economic development.
The survey ruled that while Telangana, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh were able to save lives, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat were able to restrict the number of cases better. Maharashtra ranked low in both aspects.
