The opening reviews of Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romance drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat were not entirely positive. Nevertheless, the film has succeeded in connecting with viewers and has now eclipsed the lifetime haul of another love drama, Metro In Dino, in spite of this and its conflict with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma.
The movie is now in its second week, according to Sacnilk, and made ₹4.5 crore on its second Tuesday and ₹3 crore on Wednesday. With ₹2.50 crore on Thursday, it continued to gain traction and brought its total box office receipts to ₹55 crore. In doing so, the movie has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Metro In Dino (₹52.61 crore), directed by Anurag Basu.
Metro In Dino received mostly excellent reviews and did poorly at the movie office, despite having a fantastic ensemble cast that included Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Anupam Kher. The film, which was directed by Milap Zaveri and produced by Desi Movies Factory, has Sonam Bajwa and Harshvardhan Rane in the lead parts.
It tells the tale of a strong-willed superstar and a powerful politician who fall in love. Their passionate relationship quickly devolves into a risky game of pride, obsession, and heartache. Within four days of its release, the movie recovered its ₹25 crore budget, despite critics giving it mixed to unfavorable reviews.
