Even though box office receipts slightly down during the Diwali break, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is still keeping up its momentum. The movie started off well at the Diwali ticket booth and has held its audience for the past two days, albeit it hasn’t exactly made the cash registers ring.
In India, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat debuted Tuesday at a respectable ₹9 crore net. As it earned ₹7.75 crore on its second day, the movie saw a mere 14% decline. On Thursday, the third day of its release, the Milap Zaveri movie brought in an additional ₹6 crore, bringing its total domestic earnings after three days to ₹22.75 crore.
Collections for the movie fell by little over 22% on Thursday. In contrast, Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, witnessed a 33% decline in box office receipts on the same day it was released. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has held a stronger grip during the week, despite Thamma earning more money due to a wider release. It has only dropped 33% overall between Tuesday and Thursday, whereas Thamma has dropped nearly 50% during that same time frame.
The makers of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat are now anticipating the weekend in the hopes that the movie’s box office receipts will rise, especially on Saturday and Sunday. The film was made on a very small budget of around ₹25 crore, thus it will be a success for the makers if it can reach ₹50 crore net by Sunday.
Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa play the main roles in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which was directed by Milap Zaveri and also features Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, and Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the movie was well-liked by viewers, especially in non-metropolitan areas.
