Emancipation: Apple’s new film stars Will Smith in lead, check details

Emancipation is an upcoming Will Smith starrer American historical action thriller film. It is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by William N. Collage. The film stars Will Smith and Ben Foster in the lead roles. Recently, Emancipation had its first screening in Washington, D.C. on October 1, 2022.

Moreover, Smith recently took to Instagram to share some great news with fans and followers. The actor shared a sneak peek of his upcoming film ‘Emancipation’. Coming to the plotline, The film follows Peter who is an enslaved person trying to escape from a Louisiana plantation. Eventually, as he moves North Peter joins the Union Army. Apparently, The movie is based on the true story of Gordon. Furthermore, The pictures of his bare back which was heavily scourged from an overseer’s whippings, were published worldwide in 1863 which gives evidence to the abolitionist movement and the cruelty of American slavery.

Emancipation: Release Date

Emancipation had its premiere at Washington, D.C. on October 1, 2022. The scheduled for a limited theatrical release on December 2, 2022. In addition to that, the film will be available to be stream on Apple TV+ on December 9, 2022. Check out the official teaser of the film.

On the work front, based on the reports, Will is all set to produce an adaptation of the novel “Brilliance,” with two-time Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy making her narrative feature directorial debut. However, none of these reports were addresses by the star in recent times.
