England allows 4000 spectators for the WTC final between India and New Zealand in Southampton

The World Test Championship final’s clash between India and New Zealand will be witnessed by 4000 spectators, Rod Bransgrove, the Hampshire County Club head stated. England has a much controlled COVID-19 situation and around 1500 people were allowed to watch a county match between Leicestershire and Hampshire at Ageas Bowl, Southhampton, the same venue where the WTC final will kick start from June 18 2021.

“We’re staging a four-day county game from today and for the first time since September 2019 fans were allowed for a cricket match in England. The other county games of this round will begin tomorrow and those games too will see crowds,” Rod Bransgrove, the head of Hampshire County Club, told Cricbuzz.

Fifty per cent of the total viewer’s sum will be taken by the ICC for its stakeholders and sponsors while the other half (2000 tickets) will be sold by the Board of Ageas Bowl, Southhampton. However, the bookings have already in high demand and the board has received twice the applications than the allowed spectatorship.

“I understand 50 per cent of the permitted crowds will be taken by the ICC for its sponsors and other stakeholders and we will be selling the rest 2000 tickets. We have already received more than double applications from the fans. It is a high-interest game and there is a good demand for it. Bransgrove mentioned.
