Enola Holmes 2, which debuted on Netflix earlier today, finds Millie Bobby Brown back in action as the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes, Enola Holmes, solving crimes (4th November).
Enola Holmes returns in the sequel to the hugely popular first movie Enola Holmes, which is based on the Nancy Springer novel series of the same name. She follows in her brother’s footsteps by opening her own detective business. Enola quickly learns that owning her own agency is more difficult than it first looks, and just as she is about to give up on ever receiving a case, she is given the opportunity to assist in the search for her client’s missing sister.
Henry Cavill reprises his role as Sherlock Holmes in the film, while Helena Bonham Carter plays Eudoria, the mother of Sherlock and Enola. The conclusion of Enola Holmes 2 leaves lots of room for a third movie, but has that been confirmed yet?
Enola Holmes 3 Renewal Status
A third Enola Holmes movie has not yet been announced by Netflix. However, there’s a good likelihood that Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her role as Enola was given how well the first movie fared and how well the second one hopefully will as well.
And given that Himesh Patel’s character Dr. John Watson was first presented to us in the concluding credits scene, there is a good likelihood that our favorite cast members will be back.
Enola Holmes 3 Cast
Millie Bobby Brown will undoubtedly return if a third movie is confirmed since Enola Holmes would obviously be quite strange without her.
Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Helen Bonham Carter as Enola and Sherlock’s mother Eudoria, Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury, Susie Wokoma as Edith, and Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade would all ideally return for a third film.
Due to schedule issues, Sam Claflin was unable to appear in Enola Holmes 2 as Enola’s brother Mycroft Holmes. Hopefully, he will be able to do so for a third film.
Harry Bradbeer, the director of Enola Holmes 2, remarked that if a third film is made, Sam is welcome to return. “Well, it was Sam’s schedule that became very clear, so Sam was not going to be in it. We were very sorry that Sam couldn’t be in this one. If there was a future one we would love to have him back,” he told Collider.
It would be ideal if Sharon Duncan-famous Brewster’s villain Moriarty had a third movie.
Additionally, Himesh Patel has joined the cast as Dr. John Watson, Sherlock’s sidekick, as shown in the credits scene, and he will ideally be back for a third movie.
Enola Holmes 3 Plot
The major mystery is resolved at the end of Enola Holmes 2, although there were several indications as to what may occur in a third movie.
Moriarty is spotted escaping from jail, therefore it seems probable that she will come back and give the Holmes family a tonne of trouble. Dr. John Watson is also introduced, who will probably play a significant role in a future third movie.
Despite being based on Nancy Springer’s book series of the same name, the Enola Holmes movies rarely stick closely to the novels’ storylines.
Enola Holmes 3 Release Date
We will sadly remain in the dark regarding a potential release date because Netflix has not yet stated whether or not there will be an Enola Holmes 3.
It could be some time before we see the third movie, though, as both Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill have other production obligations (Millie has the last season of Stranger Things, while Henry has a prospective Superman sequel).
