Martin Tripp was a former Tesla employee who had been accused of sharing confidential trade details about Tesla’s production and upon filing a lawsuit he had been ordered to pay $25,000 by the judge in 2018. While still working with Tesla he sent mails to journalists saying how Musk will be unable to reach the goal of producing 5,000 model 3’s weekly, after which he was fired and insulted. Tripp had now agreed to pay $400,000 to Elon Musk in order to end the feud.
