WhatsApp seems to be diving in the deep sea level of the rumor mill and can’t seems to shake of the bad rep it’s garnering everyday. Earlier, it was clarifying the changes in it’s privacy policies and now it’s the UPI transactions.
WhatsApp in a FAQ section has clarified that it’s parent company Facebook can not access the data of the UPI payments made through using it’s platform and all the transaction data is encrypted & stored in India only as per the guidelines of RBI.
It also cleared that it’s server does not store users UPI PINs, OTP, full account number or any debit /credit card details. It once again said that the new policies changes only applies to users communication with business accounts.
