Facebook will lift the argumentative ban on Australian news sites “in the coming days” as the government has agreed to alter its media law.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Treasurer Josh Frydenberg reached an agreement and finalized the deal.
“As a result of these changes, we can now work to further our investment in public interest journalism, and restore news on Facebook for Australians in the coming days,” said William Easton, MD of Facebook Australia.
The Australian government agreed to make changes in its media code to address Facebook’s concerns.
