Farah Khan praises Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna’s comeback journeys

Filmmaker Farah Khan has shared her thoughts on the recent revival of several 90s Bollywood stars, saying that making a comeback after being written off is far more challenging than sustaining success. In her latest vlog featuring Ranveer Allahbadia, Farah reflected on how actors like Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna have reclaimed their space in the industry.

Calling their return “lovely,” Farah noted that stepping back into the spotlight after a lull demands resilience. She remarked that coming back after being out of the race is even tougher than staying relevant. Quoting advice she once heard, she added that one should never waste a good failure but instead learn from it.

During the conversation, Farah also revisited her own experience with Tees Maar Khan. She admitted that when the film first released, it faced strong criticism, leaving her questioning her creative instincts. However, she now sees a renewed appreciation for the film among younger viewers. She pointed out that with Akshaye Khanna’s recent success, audiences have started quoting dialogues from the film again, something she finds gratifying.

The discussion highlighted how Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Bobby Deol’s Animal, and Akshaye Khanna’s performances in Chhaava and Dhurandhar have reshaped their careers. For Farah, these journeys prove that setbacks can pave the way for stronger returns.
