Farah Khan has confirmed that her long time cook and unexpected social media star Dilip is handsomely compensated for his appearances in her YouTube videos. In her latest vlog, filmed at actor Shruti Haasan’s Mumbai home, Farah addressed the often asked question of whether Dilip gets extra pay or royalty for featuring in her popular cooking series.
Over a meal of sambar and dosa cooked by Shruti herself, the conversation took a playful turn when Shruti asked directly, “Does Dilip get extra royalty or extra fees for YouTube videos?” Farah replied without disclosing figures, “Yes, he gets a lot more than everyone here put together.” When Shruti said they were only concerned about Dilip’s welfare, Farah quipped, “Don’t be worried about him, be worried about me.”
The vlog also revealed that Dilip had once recorded a song with Shankar Mahadevan titled Meri Pagar Badhao (“Increase My Salary”). Since launching her cooking series in 2024, Farah’s lighthearted kitchen banter with Dilip has become a key draw for viewers, with the duo often joined by celebrity guests. His dry humour and warmth have made him a fan favourite, whether cooking with Kajol or sharing meals with stars like Ananya Panday and Vijay Varma.
Shruti, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of her action thriller Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, with a special appearance by Aamir Khan. The film releases on August 14, clashing with Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan’s War 2.
