Farmers’ challenging the three farm laws will hold a four-hour rail roko’ on Thursday to build pressure on the central government to revoke the three laws.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) announced last week that the ‘rail roko’ will be observed from 12 pm to 4 pm on February 18. This will be the third agitation as they held a tractor rally on January 26 and a nationwide ‘chakka jam’ on February 6.
The farmers and the government have held 11 rounds of talks so far, the last on January 22. No further conversation has occurred since the ‘Kisan tractor parade’ in Delhi on January 26.
20 Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) have been positioned over the country, majorly in Punjab and Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
