The MCU is no less than a cultural phenomenon, with movies, series, and characters reaching and influencing all over the world. With superheroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and many more, Marvel has created an impact of its own in the last decade. With the beginning of Phase 4, which started with WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, the MCU has shown keen interest in diversity and representation. Marvel has seemed to have taken a huge step in this direction.
Recently, Indian actor Farhan Akthar was rumored to have bagged a Marvel project as well. According to sources close to the developments, Akthar was stationed in Bangkok for the project along with an international cast and crew involved in the project. With the recent tweet, it is believed that the project may be Ms. Marvel. However, there has been no official statement or announcements regarding the casting of either Farhan Akthar or Fawad Khan. Nonetheless, the official IMDb page of Ms. Marvel mentions Fawad Khan as a cast member, credited for 1 episode.
Along with Farhan Akthar and Fawad Khan, the speculated tweet also mentions the casting of Nimra Bucha, a Pakistani television actress, and Samina Ahmed, a Pakistani film and television actress. All other details of the project are under wraps.
Ms. Marvel features Pakistani-American teenager Kamala Khan, who idolizes Captain Marvel, another superhero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The upcoming American mini-series is created by Bisha. K. Ali, with Ali serving as lead writer and the directing team led by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The series is set to premiere in the winter of 2021 and is expected to set up the upcoming MCU movie, The Marvels.
