Barcelona signed three players in a row in the last few days, Barcelona is very busy signing players and making their core even stronger. Sergio Aguero was announced on 31st May, Eric Garcia on 1st June, and today the club has just confirmed the signing of Emerson Royal, exercising the proper to bring back the Brazilian after two seasons on loan at Real Betis. He signs the contract with Barcelona till 2024.
Emerson Royal was signed by Real Betis and Barcelona on a shared contractual position with Barcelona which holds the rights on the player on the condition of paying his share of 9 million euros to the holding of Sevilla.
He has played a total of 3,186 minutes for Real Betis and was in good form last season that helped them finish 6th in the league and securing European qualification.
Because of his incredible performance in the league, Emerson Royal has called up to the national team after the defender Dani Alves got injured. This is the first time he is called up to join the senior national team.
In 2017, Emerson was called up to the Brazil under-20 team. He was the first-choice right-back at the 2019 South American U-20 Championship and the 2019 Toulon Tournament, having won the latter with Brazil’s under-23 side.
