On Maha Shivrathri, five people went missing in the river Godavari while having a sacred bath at Tadipudi hamlet of Tallapudi mandal in East Godavari.
Five of the twelve children from Tadipudi hamlet drowned after they dared to enter the river. The accident claimed the lives of seven people. Anisetty Pavan Ganesh, Garre Akash (19), Thirumalasetty Pavan (19), Padala Sai (18), and Padala Rama Durga Prasad (19) from Tadipudi village perished in the Godavari River.
They had no way of knowing how deep the river was. All of the survivors—Ganta Raja Narendra, Karibandi Sai Venkata Vinay Teja, Garre Harsha Vardhan, Padala Mallikarjuna Swamy, Garre Durga Prasad, Akula Sai Rajesh, and Teku Anji—come from the village of Tadipudi in Tallapudi Mandal.
