‘Freedom of Religion Bill, 2020’ sent for Governor’s approval

In a virtual meeting held today, Madhya Pradesh cabinet passed several bills including the ordinance on the bill against religious conversion through fraudulent means which including for the sake of marriage and stipulates a jail term of up to 10 years for violators.

The Freedom of Religion Bill, 2020 has been sent to state Governor -Anandiben Patel for approval. The meeting was headed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and who informed that bills could not be presented in the state Legislative Assembly due COVID-19 pandemic.
