Gabba to be granted $1 billion, Brisbane wins the right to host the 2032 Olympic bids

Gabba Stadium would be designated with A$1 billion (USD 777 million) for rebuild and renovation before hosting the 2032 Olympics following Brisbane’s win in the bids for the same.

with the renovation, Gabba would be able to magnify its capacity from 42,000 to 50,000 around the A$1 billion marks. Queensland state capital Brisbane was referred to as the bidder to host the 2032 Olympic games in February and would possibly authenticate to host the same in early July.

Nick Hockley, the interim CEO of Cricket Australia, said: “The Gabba is one of the most important, iconic and historic cricket grounds in Australia and we are delighted that the Queensland Government has agreed to a major redevelopment should Brisbane win the right to host the 2032 Olympic Games.”

However, South Korea’s Seoul mentioned sending the International Olympic Committee a recommendation for co-hosting the  2031 Olympic games along with North Korea’s capital Pyongyang.

The Tokyo Olympics which was postponed earlier is likely to start on June 23, 2021. 2024 Olympics will be hosted in Paris, While Los Angeles will organize the 2028 Olympic games.

It will be intriguing to see who wins the bid for the 2032 Olympics ahead.
