Darren Kent, well-known for his role in Game of Thrones, has passed away. Kent died on August 11, according to the US-based news outlet Variety. He was in his late 30s.
Carey Dodd Associates, his talent agency, announced his death in a statement released on Twitter on Tuesday.
The agency wrote, “It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend [were] by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend.”
Kent was born and raised in Essex and graduated from Italia Conti in 2007. His first famous acting role was in the 2008 horror film. He then played a role in the Game of Thrones series. Kent portrayed a goatherd at Slavers Bay in Game of Thrones.
He was last seen in the 2023 movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves as a reanimated corpse.
Kent won best actor at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his role in Sunny Boy as Danny, a boy with a rare skin condition that did not allow him to be in the sun. Kent, like his character in the movie, struggled with a skin disorder, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis.
According to Variety, he was also an award-winning writer and filmmaker, having directed the 2021 short You Know Me, which won him a January Award.
